Bridges Associates helps children and adults take charge of their lives. This 501c3 organization, founded in 1989, offers educational consultation, community based group programs and professional training (special education, family systems, community groups, program development) TAKE CHARGE!(R) Coaching is an evidence based model developed at BRIDGES and evaluated in programs for youth and individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod over 25 years. BRIDGES was a partner in the Cape Cod Youth Empowerment Initiative where TAKE CHARGE! At Home was evaluated (2007-2010);participates in Cape Cod Foundation Cape Youth Action Plan. PROGRAMS: 1. Bridging Out Program, established 1990 for transition from high school for adults with complex learning disorders. Meets in Hyannis. Planning to expand to Mashpee. 2. TAKE CHARGE! Groups, enrichment and afterschool, at Wixon Innovation School, in collaboration with Dennis Yarmouth Schools as bully prevention special education inclusion program. Tested in programs since 1993. 3. GRIT: Growing Resilience Individually and Together is an afterschool program for youth (and families) that focuses on self awareness, nutrition, movement, and social relationships. The pilot was completed in June 2016. GRIT is replicable and scalable. Implementation includes leader coach training, on site program delivery and parent education by a cross sector team.

The Coalition for Children is a grant-funded, education and support program for families with infants, toddlers, or school-age children. Located on Cape Cod in Falmouth and Mashpee, we offer play and learn groups, workshops, parenting classes, support groups, developmental screenings, community events and links to local childcare providers…anything to create a strong foundation for our children, our families, and our community!
Our free programs are made possible by the Coordinated Family & Community Engagement (CFCE) Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, providing local, family-focused activities and services that support parents as their child’s first teacher.
